CRL RTV408 features primerless adhesion to: aluminum, stainless steel, chromium, and tin, iron, plastics, rigid PVC, phenolic resin, glass, ceramic and most reflective-coated glasses. Its fast cure time and easy tooling make it ideal for many in-house production applications. It is non-corrosive to most building materials such as glass (including insulating glass), tiles, and sanitary equipment. It is also used in vehicles, ships, aircraft, as well as for electrical insulation. CRL RTV408 does not cause corrosion in contact with metals. It is suitable for alkaline materials such as mortar and cement, and other applications where metal corrosion could be a problem. CRL RTV408 stays flexible and is resistant to cracking or becoming brittle in a wide range of temperatures approximately -65 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (-54 to 204 degrees Celsius).
